There is something incredibly special about walking back through a family's front door after watching them prepare for one of life's biggest adventures.
Just a few short weeks ago, we were wandering the beautiful fields of Koteewi Park together, documenting the excitement, anticipation, and quiet moments before their little girl arrived.
Now, that same excitement had transformed into sleepy snuggles, tiny stretches, and the sweetest little yawns as they welcomed baby Ainsley Anne home.
As a Cicero Indiana newborn photographer, these are the moments I treasure most—documenting not only a new baby but the beginning of an entirely new chapter for a growing family.

A Long-Awaited Hello

Baby Ainsley was less than two weeks old during her in-home lifestyle newborn session.
Those first days home have a rhythm unlike any other. Days seem to blend together as parents learn tiny cries, celebrate sleepy smiles, and slowly settle into a brand-new routine.
For Mom and Dad, this little girl had been eagerly anticipated for months. Watching them finally hold her in their arms was a beautiful reminder that some of life's greatest moments are the quiet ones.
Every cuddle, every tiny finger wrapped around theirs, and every peaceful moment rocking together told the beginning of Ainsley's story.

One of the reasons I love in-home newborn photography is that every home tells its own story. It let's everyone JUST BE and we can soak in so much goodness and the family grows closer together.
These type of sessions aren't created with a studio backdrop (although those can beautiful too!) —but in home newborn photography happens in the rooms where Ainsley will grow, laugh, and make countless memories. Where she will say her first words, take her first steps, and where mom and dad will mark her height on the wall as she grows.
To me, there is just something so beautiful & meaningful about preserving those first days exactly as they happened, where they happen.
The sunlight filtering through the windows, Mom and Dad soaking in every moment, and the peaceful atmosphere of home created photographs that will become treasured family heirlooms. The house quite. Baby making her little grunts as she snuggles into a deep sleep.

Ainsley's nursery was every bit as sweet as you would imagine...
Soft pink wallpaper paired beautifully with crisp white walls, creating a light and timeless space. Natural wood accents throughout the room added warmth, while carefully chosen toys and décor made the nursery feel both elegant and welcoming.
One detail completely stole my heart—a precious little rabbit doll nestled among the nursery décor with a floral headband and so much personality!
It was one of those tiny touches that instantly made the room feel personal, thoughtful, and ready for all of the adventures still to come.

No in-home lifestyle session is ever exactly the same, and that's part of what makes them so memorable.
Ainsley already has quite the welcoming committee waiting to grow alongside her.
The family's two sweet dogs happily stayed close throughout the session, while their curious cat made it very clear that they didn't want to miss out on any of the excitement.
I always encourage families to include their pets whenever possible. They're an important part of your family's story, and years from now these photographs will become even more meaningful because everyone was included.
