There are some evenings that seem almost too perfect to be real.
Blue skies stretched overhead, a warm breeze moved through the wildflowers, and the golden light of early summer settled gently across the fields at Koteewi Park just outside of Cicero, Indiana. It was the perfect backdrop for Bethany and Harry's maternity session as they prepare to welcome their newest family member.
As a Cicero Indiana maternity photographer, these are the sessions that remind me why I love photographing growing families. There is something so special about documenting the anticipation, excitement, and quiet moments before everything changes in the very best way.
Celebrating the Season Before Baby Arrives
Maternity sessions are unique because they capture a season of life that is both fleeting and incredibly meaningful.
For a few short months, your family exists in this beautiful in-between. You're dreaming about the future, preparing your home, imagining tiny fingers and toes, and wondering what life will look like once baby arrives.
Those moments deserve to be remembered too. That's exactly what this session was about for Bethany and Harry.
Wildflowers, Sunshine, and a Perfect Indiana Evening
One of my favorite things about late spring and early summer maternity sessions is the way nature comes alive around us.
The wildflowers at Koteewi Park were beginning to bloom, creating soft textures and beautiful color throughout the landscape. Combined with the warm evening light, it gave the entire session a timeless and romantic feel.
Locations like this are one of the reasons families throughout Cicero, Noblesville, Westfield, Fishers, and Carmel love scheduling maternity photos during this time of year.
The scenery feels effortless, natural, and beautifully Indiana.
Why I Love Maternity Sessions
Maternity photography isn't just about documenting a baby bump...although that is a beautiful part of it all!
It's ALSO about preserving the connection between two people before they become parents for the first time...or before their family grows again.
It's about slowing down long enough to celebrate what is happening right now instead of rushing ahead to what's next.
