There is nothing quite like getting to join a new family, in their home, only days after they have experienced the miracle of birth. Whether the family elected for a home birth or hospital, gave life through pushing, c-section or adoption, adding a new member to the family is one of the sweetest moments a family can have.
I was my honor to be invited into this family's beautiful home to help capture, just that.
Another really amazing thing about shooting an lifestyle newborn session [aka in home session] is that Mom & Dad are more relaxed. There is no hustle and bustle of transporting a new born baby, or older siblings to a studio. It also lets the beaming parents get images of their beautiful nursery that they no doubt spent many nights paint, decorating and day dreaming of the day the crib would have tiny toes inside as their hearts overfilled with joy.
It also allows us to include some of those other family members, that are perhaps lovingly protective and perhaps just as proud as mom and dad, themselves. This pooch was quite attentive for this in-home birth and never left Momma's side. Now she's full of love for little M and reacts to his every little wimpier and cry.
Families are truly amazing and I'm always so thankful to be invited into these intimate moments when a family grows, or new memories are created through play.
