There's SO much fun to be had as a family this Fall!
Fall in Indiana is magical, full of crisp air, colorful leaves and endless opportunities for family fun! Whether you've got older kiddos and want to soak in the sights together or younger ones who love adventure by day and snuggle by night...autumn is the perfect season to deepen those family connections!
Sometimes there are just so many options though, it's hard to know where to begin! So here's the details on some of my personal favorite activities to usher in those cool nights and sweet memories together:
1. Explore the Sunflowers at Spencer Farms, In The Suburbs!
August/September: Not every adventure has to be far from home! A visit to Spencer Farms in Noblesville, Indiana is a super charming place to grab an ice cream and wonder through sunflower fields together. Let the littles play tag or imagine to be tiny bugs walk through the fields as you and your honey hold hands and take in the view.
Then before you leave, be sure to hit the picking booth to get water and scissors so you can take a few of these beautiful buds home with you!
2. Enjoy the Harvest at Tuttle Orchards
September: Apples, pumpkins, and the sweet taste of frozen cider slushies make Tuttle's a dream for families with babies, toddlers and school aged kiddos. Venture out into the orchard to pick your own apples before grabbing a snack and playing around the farm.
And don't forget those sweet sugared donuts!
3. Visit Downtown Brown County: Little Nashville's Artist Colony & Shops
September/October: Brown County is well know as a picturesque destination in the fall, but too often it's only thought as for couples, when it's a great place for families as well!
Wander through the charming streets filled with unique boutiques, delicious hand crafted snacks (taffy, popcorn, caramel apples) and some really cool artistry. Spend the weekend in one of the sweet hotels or just visit for the day to let the kids explore! Once you're done in town, the world famous Brown County State Park is just a skip away with horseback riding and hiking trails rated for all ages and abilities. There's nothing quiet like Little Nashville and Brown County in the fall! It's nearly like taking a step back in time, or falling into a Hallmark Movie Set!
4. Shoot Tennis Cannons at Dull’s Tree Farm
October: Dull’s Tree Farm isn’t just for Christmas trees! Every fall, this sweet farm turns into a pumpkin patch and complete fall festival of it's own!
For families with kiddos and teens, try your hand at shooting tennis balls out of air cannons and see who can hit their mark! Or for the littles, have fun exploring all the bubbles, duck races and playgrounds the farm has to offer.
Grab a meal at one of the family friendly barns then check out the small petting zoo and grab a wagon ride out to the pumpkins! Once you're done, extend the day by taking on one of the corn mazes for an afternoon packed with fun for the whole family!
5. Have a Movie Night In with Snacks
Aug-October: Sometimes, the best memories are made at home!!! Gather up the seasonal snacks (apple nachos, candy corn & popcorn) as well as all the house's blankets and pillows for a family fort movie night at home!
Pick everyone's favorite movie and settle in in the living room, or if it's nice hang up a bedsheet outside and watch the movie around a bonfire with s'mores!
There is SO MANY DANG MEMORIES to be had this fall and I can't wait to hear what adventures and memories you make!
