I get so many mommas that are worried about sessions becuase either they're afriad their toddlers are "too much" or that someone in their family is too shy or too grumpy... but let me tell ya. There is no such thing.
During the planning process before each family session we connect on who "that one person" is likely going to be as well as chat briefly about what each kiddo is into. Then when the session comes, my focus turns on building a connection with that person or kiddo.
For instance if you tell me Dad is not a fan - then I'm going to work HARD to get him to laugh, flirt with you and to make us besties before the session is over. Same goes with shy kiddos - working with them to build confidence and PLAY their way through the session.
Take this beautiful family for instance. Their middle child is a shy one and Momma was worried about her personality having the opportunity to shine through for their session. On the flip side however she was also worried that all together the 5 of them would be "too much" personality / energy to get the shots.
As I said before -- no such thing. Look at how beautiful their galley ended up AND some of the kind words she shared afterward...
