Duke Family Shares News of Pregnancy with Confetti & Gender Reveal | Maternity Photos | Carmel, In

It's amazing to me how many different ways a family can be made these days...

And for some growing a family comes easily, for others it's more of a long-game with science or adoption helping to make the dream reality. But no matter how a family is made, every precious arrival is news for celebration and I couldn't have been more thrilled to help Brock and Caylin help reveal the pregnancy to friends and family.

I have actually known Caylin for a few years now. She's is a killer hair stylist based out of Noblesville, Indiana and to be honest I've fallen asleep more then once on her LASH TABLE (when I decided splurge on myself with some lash extensions).

But to be honest, I have NO IDEA how these two kept the news of becoming parents quiet for so long.

Like, I'm pretty sure the day after I told Justin (my husband) that we were expecting Ainsley, we broke it to my parents at the airport on a big poster board as they came down an escalator towards baggage. But I digress, more on that story later...

Any how, by the time I met up with these two, Caylin was already pretty far along and ready to have one final private celebration before telling all their friends and family.

So that's what we did. I met up with the couple on a warm spring evening in Carmel to shoot. Caylin and Brock had brought a ton of cute little times and Daddy had even recently gotten their sweet pea's name added to his tattoos.

Between the sunset, the willows dancing near the lake and these two beaming at each other with "their little secret" it was a pretty magical night.

And what pregnancy announcement is complete without a little gender reveal at the end?

Parents to be announce the gender of their baby by standing in tall grass field and shooting off pink confetti smoke bombs, filling the air with pink tissue paper and smoke. They are having a baby girl.

So world... let me be one the first to share with you the news that little Miss Capri will soon be entering the world and that her momma and daddy are counting down the days.

Oh and their family's reaction to the big news?

When Brock and Caylin broke the news to their families a few weeks after this shoot EVERYONE was SHOCKED and over joyed to share in the couple's BIG surprise.

Congratulations you two. I CAN'T WAIT to meet her!

p.s. Yes the canons were biodegradable. No if you recognize the main location of the shoot the canon was NOT shot off there.
