Becca & Tommy's Wedding: FREEZING but FABULOUS
I first had the chance to meet Becca and Tommy last spring when we met up for their engagement session in Carmel, Indiana.
Both project professionals working for the same company, scheduling the date had been a bit tricky because Becca was going to be flying in from New York and Tommy was coming from their home in North Carolina.
But hey - everyone got here, looked fabulous and was ready for a fun evening! Plus we paired the shoot with Mother's Day so they got to visit with family while they were in town too!
That said, fast forward to this past November it was time for these two to exchange their “I Do’s” in front of family and friends at 3FatLabs wedding venue in Greencastle.
The couple had hopped for a mild gal day but Mother Nature had something else in mind. The week prior had seen hard winds and a 6” snow which ripped “fall” from Indiana’s landscape in a hurry.
But never the less these guys were troopers. In the 30s and breezy, Becca and Tommy opted to keep their short ceremony outside as originally planned and their bridal party was more then happy to make the concession to help them celebrate their big day.
To help keep everyone (especially Becca and her bridesmaids) warm through out the day we utilized all the little nooks of 3 Fat Labs’ architecture so that people could run out for the shoots and then slip back inside to get warm.
While I was bundled up shooting, I remember thinking, “Thank goodness Becca opted for long velvet bridesmaid gowns” as it was helping to keep them warm (hello under leggings!) and quite frankly looked freakin’ AMMHH-MAZING.
All in all, the day was a wonderful, cozy celebration of their two families coming together decked out in beautiful rich jewel tones and warm candle light.
And as a matter of fact as far a color - this might be my FAVORITE colorful wedding I’ve ever shot. Becca and Tommy balanced the rich tones so well… even the groom’s ORANGE suit. Don’t ya think?!
